I decided to take a ride on "Gator Alley" (75 South towards Miami) today. I was supprised by the toll ($2.50). Not a big deal. And since I won't be going that way (or using other toll roads) much, I don't see the tolls as much of an issue. It is too bad that they don't take Easy Pass which I have and use every where else I travel.

Anyway, it appears that you have to spend around $5 just to get a sticker/transponder to start using Sun Pass for tolls. Is that true? If I have to spend money that is not going to cover tolls, I just don't think it would be worth the investment for me. What would my toll saving have been today? 25 cents each way??

Although Easy Pass cost me $1.00 a month for administration costs, I, and my family (who are on the account), use Easy Pass a lot so it is worth it.....

We travel to the Keys every year for a month from upstate NY and find it strange that FL is the only state that does not accept EZPass. Any idea why FL has it's own Sun Pass?

You can buy the sticker for $5 at publix or CVS and it includes $5 worth of toll money, so essentially it is free.

OK. I was confused about that part.

In that case, I guess I pick one up.

They are great to have, we have one on my wife's vehicle, much better than digging for change , especially if you are traveling around in the Miami-Palm Beach area, tolls are everywhere.
