Lost everything in house fire in GA. Moving to Ft Myers, FL to be closer to kids. Need furniture for living room and dining room.

I'm sorry I don't have any old furniture to offer, but wondered if you've posted your plea in the Fort Myers forum. If not you should. Best of luck to you. It sounds as though you're going through a very rough time.

By the way, St. Vincent dePaul's thrift shop on Davis Blvd. and St. Matthew House Thrift Shop on Airport-Pulling Road in Naples have very generous pricing if you or a family member is able to get there. Good Will does, also. Actually you might want to have your family look in the phone book, because there are several charitable places that have inexpensive used furniture in Naples. (There are some that are ridiculously priced also, unfortunately.)

If you want furniture for a living room and dining room, you must go to the place where furniture available at reasonable price with all suitable features like quality, durability and guarantee. For a better suggestion, plastic furniture is now available at low cost when compared to wooden and fibered furniture.

I agree, look on craigslist or the local newspaper. I have snow bird customers that buy homes down here all the time and they quite often buy quality used furniture from craigslist, garage sales, The Green Sheet, and the local newspaper.

Sorry that you had a fire. It must be very stressful for you. Unfortunately, I already sold or gave away everything when I left Bonita Springs. The suggestion to use Craig's List is what I would have written, since that's how I advertised. Many times people have "curb alerts" listed, which means they have to move and still have unsold items they're placing in front the house. Look under "free" but also "furniture." Be careful, although most people don't have bed bugs or fleas, but you don't want to be moving those little critters into your new residence. There's a trick to killing bugs on clothes & furnishings in the summer. Feel free to send me a message.

As others have written, Goodwill and other thrift shops have furniture.
