If you are not seeing many homes for sale in this area right now, it is because the prices have gone up considerably, and homes with land and no HOA fee are extremely desirable. When you go to the real estate sites, you could just put in a higher maximum price and you may see more listings, however inventory of homes for sale in this area is very low right now due to the desirability of the area. But if you wait until winter when it is snow bird season, the prices will be much higher. It is a good time to buy in the Estates as prices are predicted to go much higher in the coming year.

We moved into Golden Gate Estates about a year ago and there were a few houses in our price range. I think there are more children out here and maybe more houses go on the market in the summer so the families can be settled by September. I'm not sure though, you should find a realtor who knows this area. There aren't as many snowbirds here for sure, People are working still. Our neighborhood is really friendly, we have progressive dinners, Halloween and Christmas parties.

Whatever you do, don't be an AT&T customer out here. The service is unreliable. Verizon works as expected. AT&T will try to "resolve" the issue with a "mini-tower" (and charge you for it $149) which doesn't cover beyond your home. You will have to drive several miles towards Naples City in order to get servce, not worth it.

FYI - not that it's a solution, but if you are a good customer and mention that you'd really like to stay with AT&T and not switch they'll ship you a microcell for free. But that requires decent broadband to work.

Customer since the 90s, and after I complained after seeing a bill (aside from them shipping to the wrong address, which was covered during the initial contact), they waived the charge. But having to go thru all that in the first place speaks for itself. And the microcell only covers the house area, and even then it wasn't reliable. Thus far, its customer service is the worst I've ever seen, and that's after several calls.

I have ATT also. They sent me a letter offering a free microcell. I got it but the wife didn't like it so we don't use it.

Service has been OK without it and coverage is highly dependent on where you live-the Estates area is huge.

That said, I have a Verizon work phone and I agree overall coverage is better with Verizon.

As a current Naples resident I can tell you that I and my family view Golden Gate as the Naples Ghetto. A "Do Not Go" area.
