If the track is correct it may loop around south again. Definitely an interesting pattern.

The tops of our pine trees are still a little bent from Wilma, which was 11 years ago!

According to the latest tracking map today, Naples is not even in the cone for tropical storm warning. It said some rain and winds in the 20-40 mpr. range. That would be just typical rainy season weather.

I did read one report which said the hotels in Naples have been booked for days. Evacuees are coming to Naples.

They're reportedly coming north to Lee and Charlotte county as well. I'd expect they'd be coming to anywhere there are hotel rooms available on the Gulf coast. I heard on the news this morning that hotels in Lee and Charlotte counties are solidly booked with nothing available as well. And if I were looking to evacuate from the east coast of FL, I'd probably head there too.

I am sure. Lee has opened their shelters for evacuees from the East Coast. Watching the Weather Channel one reporter even said if you have friends on the Gulf Coast now might be the time to visit them. My daughter's SIL and kids live near Melbourne. They went to stay with Grandparents in Tampa.

That's for sure! Glad to hear your daughter's SIL and kids are out of harm's way.

Hurricanes can be unpredictable.. look how Charlie turned in to Punta Gorda as everyone said it was headed for Tampa.. In case it turns west instead of North, I fueled up two cars and filled gas cans up in case I have to run a generator for fridge, and freezer and phone. And if we lose power, I can take a drive with air on.. for a break without electric.. I should invest in a big generator to run air conditioner but it would have to be a very powerful generator .
