Should the state park allow alcohol consumption ? I see too many beer bottles at the park and I believe it is stupid to bring anything glass to the beach.

As long as people can be respectful and clean up after themselves who cares. If they aren't disturbing other people and disposing their trash properly then I don't think it's an issue... I don't think smoking should be allowed at the beaches and it angers me when people use the sand as their ash tray and leave the buts!! Those people I want to punch in the face haha.......

Tell the park ranger - I've seen the ranger at Barefoot beach stop and inform beach users of the alcohol policy. I would think they would especially be concerned about the glass though....

Barefoot Beach is a county park and has the same restrictions as the state parks regarding alcohol. I've seen too many broken bottles at Delnor and which I would call disrespectful of others. And no, they usually do not dispose of their beer bottles and cans properly.

If these rude disrespectful people who take for granite how beautiful Delnor is would actually take care of their trash properly it would then be irrelevant what kind of trash they are producing. If we can't trust people to dispose of their trash properly how can we trust people to follow a no glass rule? If someone is going around enforcing this no glass rule diligently they might as well go around and pick up trash and penalize anyone caught littering.

Sorry but many people are pigs and ruin everything for everyone. Often called 'The Land of No' the Village of Ocean Beach enforces by monetary fine a no food/no drink law on their beach and therefore have the cleanest beach on Long Island. ONLY clear plastic water bottles are permitted. Eating and drinking is to be done at designated areas. Harsh? Evidently not....it's beloved by thousands in the summer who agree.

Delnor Wiggins is a picnic park. Great! There is a certain culture that don't care about the garbage they leave at their picnic site, Then trash the shower area with whatever. Throw their babies wet diaphers everywhere. Thrash and plug up the toilets with paper towels. It would take about 3 weeks of not cleaning up after these people before the rats would show up!
