Hi Everyone. I was wondering if anyone has used a reputable moving company that you can recommend.
We need a company that has drivers and movers that will pack and unpack the truck. Also, if you feel comfortable answering, how much did it cost? Our home should be ready in 3 months and we want to start figuring out our budget. Finally, what did you do with your cars. We have 2 children under 2 and 2 cats so we will have to fly. Has anyone used a car transport company?

Thank you in advance for any helpful information that you can give!

Did this exact move a few years ago. Was a corporate relo so didn’t pay bill but it depends on weight and distance. For a full service move for a typical 3 bedroom with not a ton of extra stuff you probably should budget around $15-20K or so. This would include materials, insurance, help at both ends, etc. I recommend NOT cheaping out. If you want a better estimate call a company and they will send someone out.

With corporate moves I’ve used Atlas-affiliated owner operators through Daniels and Nelson Westerberg.

If using Daniels try and get James Rothe Sr. He is AMAZING and I can’t speak highly enough of him. Apparently he was a driver of the year recently. Nice polite guy, works his crew hard and despite a lot of packing nothing broke. He’s originally from CT (NE work ethic) but lives in Florida around Tampa if I recall. He also used a good local crew for packing. They packed a 3 BR house that was stuffed to the rafters including basement and attic and loaded in 2 days. I fed them lunch every day and they kept working.

I’ve used car haulers, probably in the $1000 range per car. Price depends on several factors such as direction (south for winter higher) and if covered or uncovered.

When I moved down I drove with the dog and my wife shipped her car and flew with the kids.
