I'm sure you all heard, but I had to come on here and commiserate with you all.

We have been waiting for ever for that North Naples one to open off US-41, got so excited when we saw the now hiring sign..and now it won't even open

Being closer to Bonita, the rumor of them building a plaza across from Coconut Point was very exciting, and they were just waiting design/board approval from the city

They were the only place that made Vegan Chocolate Chip cookies that my son could eat

Guess we have to stick with the new Sprouts on Immokalee, at least they have vegan brownies.

We’ve never been to Luckys but we love Sprouts. It’s impossible for me to walk past the cookie cabinet without filling a bag. We alternate Publix and Sprouts week to week. Went to Seed to Table but it’s like stadium shopping and no Italian bakery items. Wtf?

I'm sorry to see Lucky's closing but have to admit to not being a great customer. Mostly went for their good meat/seafood sales and stopped buying much produce there since it spoiled very quickly.
It did always seem busy though. On the other hand, maybe not since there was usually only one register open...sometimes two on Double Wednesday day.

I'm so bummed, because I also was waiting for that North Naples location to open. I really hope a grocery store will go into that location...

Pretty sad when the monopoly Publix store is the only game in FL.

No, I'm not kidding. Other than Winn Dixie and a couple other specialty grocers there is no competition for Publix. No competition means higher prices. If people are saddened or complaining on a forum about a grocery store chain closing up, then its obviously there is a problem with lack of choice .

Trader Joe’s, Costco, Sam’s Club, Sprouts, Wynn’s, The Fresh Market, Seed to Table, Whole Foods, Aldi all come to mind as alternatives.

The issue may be less with Publix and more with the decline of traditional grocers in favor of specialty options.

Fresh Market, Sprouts and Lucky's are all very similar IMHO. We have all of them here. I rarely shop at Fresh Market because their prices are too high for me, Lucky's was OK and Sprouts is also OK. Not a big deal, I much prefer Trader Joe's and Publix. They are building a Greenwise nearby which from my understanding is a clone of the Organic Markets mentioned above. What I miss the most, coming from WNY, is Wegmans who has them all beat, hands down.

Welcome to Paradise. No one told you your food bill would be higher? Remember, you are at the end of the food chain in SWFL. Actually, I get a lot of my meats from Armando's.
