And will be it less busy during the Wilson County fair??

Any good places to eat?

I've only been to Watertown to visit the drive-in. I think drive-ins are the coolest things ever. The one in Watertown has two screens, each showing a double feature every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night.

I've only been there a couple of times...as I recall it's a typical small southern town. I don't think the fair will have any impact on its business...it's pretty slow all the time I'd imagine (at least compared to Lebanon or Cookeville).

Second the recommendation on the drive-in. I've never been to it, but have always wanted to go.

Watertown is small, about a block of antique stores and a few restaurants. Not a lot to do but it is charming.

By small what them mean is there is a Dollar General, car wash, subway, community grocery store, 3 gas stations, drive in called Star Dust theater, (you can bring your own cooler in for a fee or eat at their concession stand), bank, newspaper and about 3-5 restaurants that rotate in and out. Only a couple have made it any length of time. The oldest is the Depot Junction Cafe and they have average basic food, lots of it at reasonable prices. The Mexican restaurant and a small sandwich shop called LuLu's on the square are all popular with locals. There are also 2 hair salons, a hardware store, art store, library, bed and breakfast and several small antique stores some have made it longer than others. There is also a high school and a elementary/middle school and a local park and ball park.
If you are planning on making a day of it definitely check out the calender of events for Watertown. Twice a year, usually April and September, they have a HUGE mile long yard sale with vendors that extends far beyond a mile. Also, check out the excursion train that comes into Watertown from Nashville. You can find information for these events and more at www.watertowntn.com/.

Oh, and the Wilson County fair is definitely worth checking out if you have never been. Traffic into the fair comes off of the same interstate (Interstate 40) and is on the same road (Hwy 70) as Watertown. So no you won't dodge traffic if you are coming off of interstate during fair time. In fact traffic usually backs up down the interstate for the fair.
