My husband has back issues that come and go, mostly come. He's been to a DO and a chiropractor and he's not really thrilled with either of them. His primary care physician just wants to throw muscle relaxers at him and we just want to find something, preferably not pills, to help with the pain.

Does anyone out there have someone they see that you're really happy with? We live just north of Nashville, but my hubby's doc is in Franklin so location doesn't matter - quality of care does.

Thanks so much for your help in advance. I hate seeing my best friend in pain

I got to Axis Chiropractic in Franklin (Cool Springs). Dr. Jenny Kim and I love her! Her Dad was a chiro and she has two brothers who are also chiros. She knows a lot about alternative health having been the daughter of a chiropractor.

Airport Wellness Center. It's near the Airport and his name is Dr. Kevin Sneed. He doesn't use medication, at least no with me. My back goes out every few months and he is the only one I've found in years who has been able to set it straight without trying to sell me a 12 month plan. Usually only takes one visit, two at the most.

No offense to female docs, but I've found over the years that they just don't have the strength to manipulate my stubborn bones back into line.

Thanks for the responses - going to run these by the hubby and see what he thinks!

I'm going to sub to this thread! I have back issues as well and will need to find a chiropractor when I get moved up there next month. I've found the best "therapy" for my back pain is the chiropractor and deep massage therapy. I have the greatest chiropractor here in Fla - I will surely miss him but hopefully will find someone just as wonderful in the Murfreesboro or Nashville area.

you can try out inversion therapy techniques with him. just consult with your expert and get some inversion machines and practice some inversion excercises over it. it really works. in back problems and in spinal issues it really helps.

I go to Dr. Hudson on Old Hickory Blvd right at I-65/Brentwood exit. He doesn't give me any medication. They do some sort of cold pulsating treatment after the manipulation. Biggest bonus: my insurance covers the visits in full! My EOB says physiotherapy or something and they cover the entire amount.

When I was ridiculous pregnant (I added more than 50% of my body weight) I went to a reflexologist in Hendersonville. His name was Kendall Echert (or something close). It brought me so much relief, and it actually lasted for a week or so. Fortunately, I don't need him anymore (and it's a haul for me to get there).
