rank) city (county) - population - raw gain
1) Nashville (Davidson)- 601,222 - 55,698
2) Murfreesboro (Rutherford) - 108,755 - 39,939
3) Clarksville (Montgomery) - 132,929 - 29,474
4) Spring Hill (Williamson/Maury) - 29,036 - 21,321
5) Franklin (Williamson) - 62,487 - 20,645
6) Smyrna (Rutherford) - 39,974 - 14,405

7) Bartlett (Shelby) - 54,613 - 14,070
8) La Vergne (Rutherford) - 32,588 - 13,901
9) Brentwood (Williamson) - 37,060 - 13,615

10) Chattanooga (Hamilton) - 167,674 - 12,120

All are in the Nashville MSA, except for Clarksville. Murfreesboro was no real surprise, but it's amazing that it's raw growth is almost equal to the size of the city of Smyrna.

Rutherford and Williamson Counties had 3 cities each on the list, which is amazing in itself. The fact that Spring Hill grew by more than Franklin is simply astounding to me.

68,245 of Rutherford's 80,581 in growth came from Murfreesboro, Smyrna, and La Vergne, almost 85%.

Yep. Middle TN cities had a very strong showing overall. Gallatin and Cookeville had fair increases as well.

For other TN cities, Collierville and Johnson City didn't do too bad, either.

You can't beat Rutherford County for bang for the buck -it's clean, schools rock, and it's going to be a huge center for healthcare...Murfreesboro, Lascassas, etc....everybody who's coming into town is from someplace else - Chicago, Philly, Long Island, Westchester, North Carolina...and remember NO state income tax!!! I live in Lascassas which avoids those taxes in the city but I'm fifteen minutes away..hahaha-I am moving for a job in Nashville and it pains me to have to leave this place - I'll never get this level home in Davidson county at this price.

If you're talking about just the city of Nashville then I would say Bellevue, Hermitage, Cane Ridge, and Antioch.

If you're talking about the metro area, it's pretty clear that Williamson and Rutherford are tops with western Wilson and southern Sumner doing well too.

Yeah, I think Cane Ridge and Hermitage are probably among the highest in number.

Actually, in percentage downtown has to be pretty high.

Yes in percentage I would imagine downtown/the gulch is very high and also Germantown/Salemtown considering a lot of old single family homes were replaced by multistory condo buildings and row houses.
