We will be moving to the Nashville area in July. Mt. Juliet has proven to be a bit more than we are willing to pay for a rental.

Does anyone know anything about these three neighborhoods in the Nashville area? :

Woodridge, River Glen, and Cottages of Williams Bend

We are looking for a safe, family friendly area. It would be good to be close to a Target store, but not essential. :0)

Thanks for the help.

River Glen-- Are you referring to the neighborhood by Opryland up in Music Valley? If so, I've driven through River Glen and have always thought it looked super cute. I really don't know anything about it except that it looked like somewhere I'd like to live.

I do wonder about the logistics of living there, like how's traffic, where do you do your shopping, etc. From what I can tell, you can't really get in and out without going through Music Valley. I also wondered how they fared in the flood, although the banks overlooking the river are so high there, they may have not had any issues.

Woodbridge-- Down in Nippers Corner, right? A good friend of mine lived nearby in Brentwood Downs. Nice area, lots of conveniences. She had no complains of crime. My only complaint going to visit and pet-sit for her was traffic.

As far as comparing one to the other, they're both in very different parts of the city. Ordinarily, I'd say I prefer the south location at Woodbridge, but River Glen is really a unique area when compared to the rest of Northeast Davidson County.

I'm not familiar of the Cottages of Williams Bend. What area of Davidson County is it in?

Good luck with your move!

Thanks for the reply. You have asked questions that I don't know the answers to. I found out about homes in these neighbhorhoods online. I need to back and look at them on the map.

Thanks again!

Well then definitely check out the areas for yourself. Like I said with River Glen, it's a unique area, but it's basically cut off from direct access to major roads by the river and by Opryland. Absolutely gorgeous area in the city, though! Maybe someone else will chime in who's lived there.

I have a friend who lives up around River Glen, their house is up for sale. They like the neighborhood, the house just isn't big enough for the kids.

Williams Bend is east of town off of Bell Road (Stewarts Ferry Pike exit), not that far south of I-40, just north of the Elm Hill Marina. I don't know much about it. The area isn't bad at all from first glance, but I suppose any rental-intensive neighborhood could have issues depending on who else is renting nearby!
