I just received my first month bill from Metro water and it seems high. I paid 45 for water and 93 for sewer. We have no pool and haven't watered our yard.
In our previous home we had a pool and a huge garden that was often watered and our bill was never nearly this high.

And to add insult to injury we have the worst water pressure I have ever experienced, is this common in the Donelson/Two Rivers area?

Is it just that the Nashville water costs are high or does it sound like there might be a problem?

where did you move from?

Water is much more expensive here than it was in our old town back east. We used to pay $45/quarter for water and sewer. Now we pay more than that a month and significantly more in the summer when we have the irrigation on

I've got to think something sounds off...

I live in Donelson and my highest metro water bill has been just barely $40. Lowest was less than $20.

Somtheing is definitely wrong...either with your pipes or the water company's system. Unless you have 5+ kids living in the house, the average water bill for a 2-person household should be no more than $40/month.

Contact them and have them re-read your meter.
