[b]I am fairly new to this forum. My husband and I are moving to TN as soon as we can. We are southerners but have lived in FL for 26 yrs (not happily). TN is our choice and while we would love to live on the eastern side (the further north the better), we don't want to get in the middle of a growth burst like we have here in central FL. We absolutely love the mountains and want to move where it is mountainous. I am thinking that middle TN is a better choice if we don't want the big tourism and growth that the eastern part is experiencing.

I am very interested in Franklin county and wondered what you can tell me about it. Is it pretty and is it mostly small town living? How are the people there? What about the growth rate?

My husband went for a job interview in May to Johnson City but it didn't work out (pay). I asked him to take pictures and go to Jonesborough since I couldn't go. He didn't quite make it to Jonesborough but drove a long ways in the country. He loved it there. Is it just as pretty in Franklin County?B]

You might want to post this in the general Tennessee forum, since Franklin County is not part of the Nashville MSA.

You say that your husband's interview in Johnson City didn't work out because the pay was too low. Does he have anything lined up in Franklin County? I went to Sewanee which is just barely in Franklin County, and I can tell you that there aren't a plethora of high-paying jobs in that area. The mountain is pretty though.

Thanks for the input. After my husband refused the job, we thought about the pay and realized that we will probably have to settle for less pay in TN unless we live close to a big city which we don't want to do. It would be worth the difference to us.
