Just got off the phone with a friend of mine in England who went out for Indian food last night . . . started to crave Indian food now (NO MORE TURKEY!). Used to eat it often in Australia but haven't had any here. Does anyone know of a good (but casual, it's for lunch) Indian food place in the Cool Springs metropolis????

I like Bombay Bistro. It's on Carothers, near Basil. They do a great lunch buffet. I mean at least I think it's great. I made the mistake of liking their Facebook page where they post pics of what's for lunch. Always makes me want to stop what I'm doing and just GO!

My English husband likes Bombay Bistro (I do too)- Go early though, by 12 there is usually a fairly long line for the buffet.

The Indian place on Hillsboro just north of the Mall next to Krystals is really good too.

Thanks much! A buffet sounds good since I am a novice when it comes to ordering. In Sydney I always went for the 'Butter Chicken', plus to get a variety when you're just one person, a buffet is best! It always gives me heartburn, but I do not care!

They both have a buffet FYI.

Again, not endorsing, just informing.

I'd go with Bombay of the two, but I remember hearing about two or three more opening soon. Is this one of the new ones?

There is OK Thai but no great Thai (that we've found).

Smiling Elephant is fine. (No beer/alcohol though). Tiny place so always a line.

My (from SF where I had 3 great Thai restaurants in walking distance from my house) and my co-worker and husband who moved here from NYC like Golden Thai better. Off White Bridge in a strip mall across from Target. letseat.at/goldenthainashville

Thai Pooket near the football stadium I haven't been to yet and have heard mixed things.
