Heard great things about Nashville. Why do you think I should consider moving to Nashville. {Other than low taxes and great country music.}

Thank you. Is there an area where I could find modern/contemporary homes?

I also wanted a more modern/contemporary home myself but I settled for a transitional home in Brentwood. But you can find lots of beautiful mid-modern homes in the Green Hills/Oak Hills areas that have already been updated or can be updated. There are also modern homes to be found in most of the more recent subdivisions. I saw some in Princeton Hills and also a great one down off of I-65 Cool Springs exit. Also there were some in Franklin area just west of the I-65 Moore's Lane exit.

If you want to be in the city, I saw several areas that are offering modern town homes and newly built urban homes in several close-in areas of Nashville. I am sure there are others who can give you more specifics.

Just a note on the taxes (since you are considering retirement, specifically):

Tennessee does not have an income tax on wages, but does have an income tax on investment income (6%). There are exemptions for those over 65 that fall below specific income limits.

Individual Income Tax
