I hate Pandora. Best radio station ever is Lightning 100 here. Independent and they play a lot of local stuff, sponsor Live on the Green and other local events and I can stream from my computer all day at work. I do also have Sirrius XM in the truck for future road trips.

Lightning 100 is all I listen to also. I guess they are "adult alternative," but they are independently owned and focus on local music with good classics thrown in.

For a music town, Nashville has a pretty pitiful selection of radio stations. Memphis has MUCH more variety, and even Knoxville has better choices.

If you want Top 40, 107.5. Sometimes MTSU's station (88.3) plays good jazz and classical, but their signal is so weak I can't pick it up without a ton of static.

I'm sure we do. 1510 WLAC seems to have a lot of conservative talk radio.

How funny. One of the reasons I love living in the Nashville area over Knoxville is Nashville's better radio stations (for me). Not only does Nashville have a much better classic rock station (105.9), Nashville has three NPR stations: 90.3 ("normal" NPR), 91.1 (all classical music), 1430 AM (all news including BBC news). I know the OP didn't ask for classical stations, but that's definitely an area where Nashville beats any other city in Tennessee (and most other cities in the US, for that matter).

Otherwise I usually rotate between 105.9 and 96.3 (Jack FM). I don't know how to describe Jack FM, it's kind of a mixture of classic rock/80s pop/top 40. Good work-out music.

Thanks. I really only listen to Hannity and Mark Levin. Some of the other conservative radio guys make us look bad and spew incredibly stupid comments--ex Rush, Mike Savage.

Maybe I will find some good local guys on that station...

99.7 has more local conservative talk stuff than 1510.
