It's Memorial Day weekend! And I don't think we have discussed hot dogs. Lived in Switzerland for a few years and loved bratwurst, or maybe it was some other kind of wurst - they were white. YUMMY! There would be places on the ski slopes where they'd cook them and you'd stand around an overturned barrel for a table. Cheap (relatively) and filing.

The hot dogs at Costco are actually pretty decent and cheap (foot long, plus soda, $1.50).

But I'll throw this out there as a change from schools and real estate!

The Dog of Nashville in Hillsboro Village is my absolute favorite. Try your dogs deep fried there. You will not regret it! I enjoy I Dream of Weenie in Five Points as well.

Hot Diggity Dogs is great. Great dogs and their fries are excellent too. I Dream of Weenie is good as well. I've only been there once (liked it a lot) but preferred Hot Diggity largely due to the fries and better seating choices.

If its Germanic sausages you're after, look no further than Gerst Haus. One of my favorites.

I like the Dog of Nashville too. We go there before at least one Vandy game each year.

I shouldn't have opened this thread. I'm trying to be good and juice today, and the BBQ and hot dog threads aren't helping.

BTW- Brats aren't as common here. A transplant neighbor sent us a backyard barbecue invitation that mentioned throwing brats on the grill and it took me a second to realize she didn't mean poorly behaved children.

After becoming a regular at Cori's DogHouse, I have a hard time eating hot dogs on plain ol' hot dog buns anymore. Wish they had something like that down here.

Tiger Meat has the best hot dogs, hands down. He'll be at Centennial park tomorrow but he's regularly in Franklin.
