I am a college student looking to move to Tennessee. I really would like to find a 2/3 bedroom farm/country house that's about 20-40 minutes away from Nashville. I am not too concerned about the condition, I could fix some things if need be. Is it possible to find that for $600-$800 a month? If so, what area should I look and is there any hidden online site that I should look at? Thanks for the help!

Sarah

A couple of areas you could look would be parts of Cheatham County (Pegram, the River Road area, Highway 12) and the area northwest of Davidson County along I-24 (Joelton, Union Hill). You might also look at Fairview in Williamson County. I'm not sure what homes are going for now these days in Fairview; it used to be a lot less expensive than other areas in Williamson.

At one time you could have looked around the Mt. Juliet area, but that area is growing so I doubt you could find what you're looking for. Forty minutes will take you quite a ways from Nashville in some directions, so you do have quite a few choices.

You might try craigslist classifieds: jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, events, forums for rentals. 20 to 40 minutes out of town in most any direction will find you what you are looking for.

You might want to look around my area, Coffee County. I have seen several homes renting in the $650.00 range. Manchester is right off hwy 24. 30 min to Murfreesboro and a nice ride.
