]Hello all
This is my first time posting, so thanks in advance for your input!
I am considering an opportunity in Nashville and would be relocating from Orlando Florida.
My husband and I (and 2 girls- age 3,5) have always lived in Florida and although our family is all in Florida, we think it may be fun to move somewhere with seasons!!
My husband owns his own company and will work from home, I would be commuting to downtown Nashville. The most important things will be the school and being in a community we can meet other 30 something’s as we will know NO ONE!! (I have heard we want to be in Williamson county) ...I just don’t know where to start

Ideally, we will stay around 400-450K for our home... but if its the difference of being in the right area would go as high as 520k. I'm trying to get a plan together for our upcoming visit in January to see the different parts of town.

Also, any input on the lifestyle there vs Florida?
Schools there vs Florida?

My biggest fear is not knowing anyone and being in a new place... but the opportunity is exciting and from what i do know about the area it sounds like a nice fit
Thanks so much for your input!!

For real estate use realtracs.com. You might like Westhaven. It's a kid friendly subdivision. Not sure how much is available this time of year but you can see what pops up.

My wife and I just moved from Orlando, Florida less than a month ago. Neither one of us could have been any happier in this choice. We didn't quite have the budget you do, but when we were looking at the suburbs out here, our first choice was Hendersonville.

We don't have any kids yet, so schools weren't a deciding factor in our move, but heard that Sumner county has great schools as well. It isn't very hard to meet people here due to everyones overall friendliness everywhere we have gone. Whether it be in the local grocery store, the Rockette show at the Grand Ole Opry...heck, even a senior lady walking around picking up customers trays at Chick Fil A....everyone here has been top notch.

We ended up getting an apartment for a year so that we could better get a feel for the exact area we plan on settling in and for our budget it was the right thing to do. Currently we live in Hermitage and like it out here as well.

The only place that got an overwhelming vote of "do not move there" from everyone we talked to here before we moved was Antioch.

Good luck with the move! Hope yall like it as much as my wife and I did. World of difference between these two cities and we like it that way.

My friend and old neighbor moved from Orlando to Franklin and says other than being a little cold in the winter, haha, she loves it! I would definitely look at Williamson County with your budget. Westhaven was a great suggestion bc there are a ton of families and a great community feel. I prefer Franklin to Brentwood but your budget could get you in a smaller home there as well. Good luck!

Military folks do this all the time and many times during a 20-30 year career. It's natural to feel this way, but believe it or not, there are many new people awaiting your arrival that will enrich and touch your future. Easy to say, but try not to fret so much on this part.
