Greetings, Nashville!

I'm heading your way with some buddies next weekend and we're looking for some fun and unique things to do in town. I think we've got the nightlife piece figured out (that part was easy), and a brewery tour for Saturday afternoon, but what else might 5 middle aged dads from Raleigh do while we're in town? Friday afternoon as well as Saturday and Sunday mornings are particularly open right now. Any ideas?

Thanks,
-Doug

Fortunately, you are arriving the week BEFORE CMA Fest, which brings tens of thousand of country music fans to town. So you should be able to get around town without too many issues.

A couple ideas: Depending on what time your brewery tour is, Musicians Corner in Centennial Park is a fun outdoor concert with food trucks and vendors. They have rotating live music all day beginning around 1:30.

On Friday afternoon, I would head for the rooftop at Acme Feed & Seed or the Rock Bottom Brewery for a drink with a nice view. Maybe tour the Country Music Hall of Fame, which has a couple great exhibits now, including one about Sam Phillips of Sun Studios.

Sunday morning? There's always brunch. Mere Bulles in Brentwood has a buffet that is good. Or you could stand in line at the Pancake Pantry in Hillsboro Village. OR, if you're an adventurous group, you could attend a local worship service where you will hear some incredible music, like at Mt Zion Baptist Church.

Good ideas above! Have wanted to see the Italian Auto exhibit at Frist.

Loveless Cafe... Musicians Corner... Jog through the Warner Parks (start at the Belle Meade gates)... City Winery... Parthenon (if you're going to Musicians Corner)... Golf at McCabe (short public course)... Hermitage (home of Andrew Jackson)... The Nashville Sounds are in town vs. Round Rock (Austin).

If part of the Friday or Saturday fun includes Grand Ole Opry, maybe shop at Bass Pro Shop in Opry Mills.
You may also find a Nashville shirt gift shop.

Thanks, guys, this stuff is perfect! I really appreciate the insight and several suggestions that we hadn't come upon through the standard tourist channels. Can't wait to come experience Nashville!
