As a Clarksville native and an employee in Nashville, I use to have no problem driving back and forth to Nashville and Clarksville until now. I24 has nearly became a parking lot all the way down for at least 20miles due to careless wrecks due to the lack of roadways in the last year many of my co workers from Nashville are moving toward Clarksville due to cost of living and TDOT is continuing to lack infrastructure.Could i24 North become like i24 South and urbanized? As Clarksville climb toward 200,000 within city limits it’s becoming a nightmare. What is anyone else’s take on this?

Since the Light Rail Transit has been declined.

TDOT should be ashamed of how they did Clarksville and Chattanooga. Compared to peer cities in other states, they don't hold up in terms of infrastructure.

It’s very sad I’ve through Chattanooga once going to Atlanta and it was rough there as well but I can say at least they do have a freeway system which makes it a little easier than Clarksville there is literally no way around Clarksville without going through the city itsself and 101st is a joke it’s suppose to help with traffic flow but it’s becoming just as congested ...I myself was even driving around Hopkinsville Ky and the infrastructure there is even better than Clarksville and it’s 3x smaller. With the extensive growth of development and population this area is going to be grid locked in the next 2 years. I know in recent studies TDOT and Kentucky Highway Department are suppose to team up to widen i24 from exit 86 to exit 11 we will see how long this take.

Yes, it will become more urbanized.

The Regional Transit Authority just completed a Northwest I-24 Corridor Study last fall that lays out goals for the area.

There is currently a park and ride commuter bus from Clarksville you could take to downtown Nashville:

Part of the problem is that, coming from Clarksville, you are mixing with the literal 80% of Cheatham County residents who commute out of the county to work. So congestion is going to continue to be an issue.

Sounds like you either need to live in Clarksville and work in Clarksville, or move to Nashville and work in Nashville.

I don't know how any job no matter what the pay is worth that kind of commute. I have a commute from East Nashville to Antioch everyday, which is pure hell. An hour back home every night due to people coming into the city. I may take a job for less pay just to work in downtown and walk to work.

For me, life is too short to spend that much time in a car.
