We are considering a move towards the Nashville area, coming from Nevada where most land is public once you get a few miles out of town, and in Tennessee that is not the case it appears.

My questions, are there places that we can find challenging rides that are 10 to 20 miles long through beautiful country ?

What rural / country areas are the most horse friendly ?

Thanks

I just found a house for one of my clients in Santa Fe that is right on the Natchez Trace (a very popular place to ride). Normally you can trailor your horses to the trace, but they didn't want to do that. There's a few houses like that.

I live in Wm County and there are many horse farms out here. You'll also find Shelbyville (the home to the Walking Horses) has quite a few horse farms as well. Many areas around here, the neighbors who all own hundreds of acres together allow people to ride on all the land (you just have to know where to look).

There's also a lot of new equestrian developments going up (nice estates with a community equestrian center, stables and trails). Not sure what your price range is, but they are lovely communities.

Default moving to nashville

from NYC and am looking to rent at first. I would like to be near the city area, but still feel like I'm in the country. A small house with some horse property would be ideal.
Could you help me find something like that?
Barring that, if I decide to go into an apt. set up I would like to try to steer clear of the college crowds as well as the family oriented complexes as well.
Apt living geared toward young professionals.
thanks so much.
Also I don't know the market out there but have been seeing that I might be able to rent something decent for about $700.
