Hello,
I am needing to find a house that is pet friendly within a 30 min drive from Nashville. I have a job opportunity there and have no clue where to move to or where to start. I am looking for a town/suburb that has a lower cost of living than Nashville. I will be making roughly $55,000 per year. I need to keep rent on the lower side of the spectrum. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you:confus ed:

1. What is your actual budget? “...on the lower side of the spectrum” tells us nothing.

2. Where is your job located? The metro area is quite spread out and randomly giving you a suburb name could mean a two hour commute.

- Fairview
- Spring Hill
- Franklin - a rare small house pops up now and then at about $1,200 - $1,300/month or so, but those will generally go very quickly
- Antioch - from what I remember, some "not too great" areas, so you'll have to check it out first

Note: Spring Hill would be the furthest south from Nashville, so commute times can vary depending on what time you leave for work.

Spring Hill and most parts of Franklin are not 30 min from Nashville in a typical 8am-5pm commute.

A house at $1,200 month isn't realistic for Franklin.

Spring Hill is closer to 50min or more.

30 min drive of Nashville core: Donelson, Hermitage, Bellevue, East Nashville, and Madison. All the core neighborhoods would meet this criteria.

As I stated in my response "A RARE small house pops up now and then for about $1,200 - $1,300 but those will generally go very quickly" When we were looking for homes for rent (before deciding to buy instead) we found 3 houses in Franklin between $1,200 - $1,300. They were small, and all only had 1 bathroom each. One was only 1 bedroom but the other two were 2 bedrooms. They don't come up often, but I'd been looking every single day for about two month and found those. This was about 3 - 4 months ago. Also, OP did not give a dollar amount. I was merely sharing what I had found during my research to move to TN.
