Well my husband and I are considering a move to the Nashville area, probably Franklin or Brentwood area. I am wondering what the weather is really like. I checked the data here, but I know that these are just averages. Can anyone tell me what the weather is really like? How much snow does the area get?
Thanks

In January 2003 we got 4 inches of snow that shut the city down for 3 days.

No snow equipment but rarely need it. My winter coat is a windbreaker. :-)

The Nashville Area usually gets 1-2 good snows every year lasting a day or two. It's the ice that causes most of the problems during the winter months (Jan-Mar)
I've lived in the area for close to 20 years and have only been "snowed/iced in" less than 4 or 5 times and only one time for over two days.

This isn't a weather question but I read that you have lived in the area for a long time and I was wondering if you could tell anything about some of the smaller surrounding areas. We are looking to move our family to Murfreesboro or another area outside of Nashville. Any info or ideas?
