There's a possibility that I will be moving to Murfreesboro to work soon. I've found several apartments that I'm interested in looking at, but I have one main concern: Are the complexes in Murfreesboro mainly student-occupied? I ask because of the noise issue.

Also, I had bad experiences with this in the past. I lived in a one-year-old apartment complex in a college town, and it was ALWAYS LOUD. Currently I live in a thirty-year-old apartment complex, and it's very quiet. The former was a more expensive apartment. So there lies the worry.

I like the choices of apartments that I will get for my money in Murfreesboro, but should I be looking at places like Smyrna to be more likely to have quiet?

I'm not looking for a SILENT place. I hear my neighbors walking around and talking all the time. I'm also not against having students as neighbors. I just don't want to live in a party complex again.

I can PM some complexes I am considering if that helps.

Thanks for your help, and howdy from Mobile!

Hi OkiefromBama,

To answer your question, No! Not all of the apartments here are occupied by students. We are a college town, but it does not define Murfreesboro at all. When I first moved here, I rented an apartment. It had some kids from the college that lived there, but it was not dominated by college students. I would look for an apartment further away from the college on the west side of Murfreesboro. Some of the complexes that I know are nice are. Carrington Park, Woodgate Farms, St. Andrews (all of these are located on St. Andrews Drive). There is also Cason Estates, Ashwood Cove and Aldridge at Gateway Village. None of these complexes will be dominated by college students. There are more family oriented. You won't have a party atmosphere in any of the complexes I mentioned.

If I can answer any other questions for you please let me know. You can always DM me as well.
