Aaarrgh... What I thought were a few cute woodpeckers in my backyard, are actually Yellow-Bellied Sapsuckers. The little buggers are drilling holes in the tree to get at the sap and this is not good. I have a peanut flavored suet out back, I wonder if that is attracting them .... should I take that down?
Is there any humane way to get rid of these "suckers" until they migrate north in the spring ?? Thank you.
I have several that come and use the trees. Small holes, not a big deal. The trees do fine.
Well that's good to hear, don't want to lose my maples. Thx.
