We feed the birds in our area and get lots of pigeons. The pigeon flock is between thirty and a hundred.
We also may not be in the area this summer.
I am wondering, springtime is approaching and if these pigeons have offspring and we leave for several months there will not be enough food in the surrounding area for them.
So, if we stop feeding them during the nesting/breeding season, will that encourage them to go elsewhere to nest, or perhaps not to have so many offspring in this area because food will once again be scarce?
If this is thought to be a wise move, we are in the NYC area - when should we stop feeding them?
