What a great story. Glad to hear investigators determined the bears did not kill her.
This reminds me of another woman I read about who had befriended bears for years. When she was diagnosed with terminal cancer, she became so weak she could barely hold her arm out. One of the bears gently supported her hand while she hand fed it.
It reinforces my belief that all animals can experience love, compassion and empathy.
The bears may not realize it, but they are probably lucky the medical examiner didn't point a finger at them. They would be hurtin' for certain otherwise. She was a brave, determined person who apparently died doing what she loved best, among friends.
