Is there any way you could carefully take up the nest and put it in a tree nearby, and cross your fingers the mother finds it?

Maybe the baby birds will like Led Zeppelin anyway.

The good news is, baby birds grow up fast. Between the time eggs are laid to when they leave the nest is usually about a month.

If they don't get the hint and start building on the nest platform I placed yesterday in a very similar spot about 20 feet away, then I will move their nest there after fledging. They probably already have an alternate nest site though, so they may ignore my platform. Or another bird may claim it. I haven't seen any phoebes yet and they nest on my house every year, usually beating the robins to the prime real estate.
