Did anyone have any damage from Tuesday evening hail storm in McCook? Heritage Hills golf course on far west side got hit Hard. Baseball size and 70 mph winds. Vynel (sp) siding was completely ripped off on most houses. All windows on north side broken and lawns have no grass in some areas.

My rental trailer, 1967 model, has several broken windows, roof damage, and side pulverized. ( I can spell this word but the V word escapes me).

Luck has it that I added 10,000.00 full coverage insurance less than 1 yr ago. We will do most of work ourselves and put rest in bank. Most other old trailers in that area were not insured, and people are low income.

WE had up to 5 inches of rain and Walmart was closed due to skylights broken out. Hail was 2 feet deep in parking lot. Two injuries were reported including broken finger hit by hail stone.

Luckily my house has paint only knocked off and new pickup ( 1 month old) has no damage. Several people said worst hail storm in 50 yrs. Hopefully my ins. agent will call me today so no more water damage occurs with roof damage.

I just got back from McCook and all I can say is "Holy cow!!"
I took pictures....

My kids were amazed at the damage we were looking at. The pine trees on the east side of WalMart's parking lot, for example, were completely stripped. Not only were the needles gone, so was the bark in a lot of places!

We, on the other hand, missed the storms entirely. Tuesday's tracked from around Imperial down to just east of Benkelman and on to the south east. All we saw was the wind kicking up. But not enough to cause damage.
I know they saw a lot of demolished corn fields around Imperial, north of Parks and north and east of Benkelman... DH's work pickup (parked north of Parks) lost the windshield, but it was nothing like the damage McCook saw!

Got damage costs from adjuster.

3000.00 to 07 Ram 1500, can hardly see dents, so will put money towards pick up loan.

2000.00 on our house, will do some painting.

8100.00 on old trailer that we will not fix and pocket money. Tenants have 40 days to move. Will sell trailer and keep land.

Adjuster said average claim at golf course is 25,000 to 40,000 in damage. One claim north of McCook was 70,000.00.

I could easily believe that. All those fancy houses, right there were the storm really seemed to hit.
