hi all,

i am taking a roadtrip from chicago to los angeles. a lot of my journey will be in nebraska, spent on interstate 80. can anyone recommend any self-pick farms, farmers markets, cheap, and/or local eats along the highway? i figure word of mouth is the best way to get started on finding stuff out.

your help is much appreciated.

Ole's is certainly worth checking out. The food is typical bar fare burger stuff but the decor is awesome. Are you a PETA member? If so, the decor is not awesome; the seventh level of hell awaits.

Nebraska is famous for fast-food joints all along I80. We have all the national chains. The BurgerKing in York has the best fries.

The smell of diesel exhaust and Subway Sandwich is a Nebraska tradition.
