Norby413 my thoughts exactly most of these folks must have their heads in the gutter, I would also bet that the men here wouldn't have a problem pulling theirs out and urinating on the side of the road. Not sure about the other females but I don't see that as sexual, heck at times it makes me jealous that I can't do the same but I don't want to jump on it.

LOL, I'm a breastfeeding mother and have fed my baby in the resturant. I do it discreatly, but it's kind of hard to see anything in the first place.
I actually have had men start talking to me and will be talking for some time before they realize I'm breastfeeding, once they realize they get all awkward, LOL

snb3, I don't see how peeing into a cup in a resturant is equivelent to eating in the restroom. She asked if you would eat in the bathroom. Well would you? No? Then why would you want me to feed my baby in there?

As for smacking, belching, eating with your fingers; that's your decision and your right to make a scene of yourself. Most people might not notice (or maybe so if you are very loud ).
Same with me breast feeding, it's my choice and right to do so and possibly make a scene if someone notices (and takes offense), but most people do not notice and if they do, seem to not to be offended. Actually, it seems most that notice are women, men seem oblivious to it.

Like someone mentioned before, would you rather listen to a crying baby?

And I would have absolutely no problem with someone breastfeeding at my wedding reception, or party, or anywhere else.

I don't think there are that many moms who breast feed in the states... We tend to formula-feed our infants instead, however, once in a while you will find a breast feeding mom, I have never seen a woman nurse in public though. If you are going out maybe you should use a breast pump and store it in bottles, then when your little guy gets hungry all you have to do is pull out a bottle and everything is ok!

I have no problem with breastfeeding in public as long as the mother has no problem with me watching, quid pro quo. Except that I am against all parenthood because of overpopulation and public school taxes and hoping childfree people can move to a NV town, outvote the parents and zero fund the public schools, funding only contraception.

My baby absolutely refuses the bottle, tried it many times, even tried leaving her with my sis with pumped breast milk. Had to call it off early and come back because she will not drink from a bottle.

I don't know if you ever looked or not, but I see women breast feeding often in public, I probably notice because I do so myself.
Again, when I'm breastfeeding in public, people seem oblivious to it and rarely notice.

Once I did see a woman that was not discreat about it, but that's very uncommon to see. In order to be "all hanging out" you need to have a botton down shirt all unbuttoned and no blanket/cover.
I usually wear a pull over shirt for that reason, the baby covers any exposed belly skin and the shirt will cover the rest above. All you see is me holding my baby against me

Again, I've had conversations with guys before while I'm feeding and they won't notice until I say "excuse me, she needs to change sides." Then they get all awkward and say, "sorry, I didn't know you were nursing," or "I thought you were just holding her." Some get uncomfortable and excuse themselves and some don't seem bothered and we continue our conversation.

And Allandi, where did you ever get the idea that the world is overpopulated? There are vast empty spaces to roam in Mongolia all for you .
I wonder how long this proposed childfree town of Nevada will last. About one generation I predict
One of the reasons Nevadans love their state is because of the light government. To empose that sort of contrceptive control over a town is socialistic.
I do agree with your view of public school taxes though.

For the poster who equates breastfeeding uncovered to farting or urinating in a cup (!!!!!!!) :

I like to be respectful of other people but my baby gets upset, cries and will not feed if I try to cover him while feeding in any way. Other moms have this problem too. Should my baby starve so you wont be offended? Just curious....

Wow...interesting thread.

It's one of the tough things about being an American...I am regularly surprised how easily offended some Americans get about something as simple as breast-feeding.

Incredible amounts of violence on the news and on tv 24 hours, no problem...but a woman feeding her baby in public...public outcry

Ugh... the "breastfeeding in public" mafia has arrived..

Look, no one is saying you cant do it in public, we are just saying that the use of some discretion would be appreciated.

If you want to be "She-Na Mistress Of The Wild" and flop it out while I am eating dinner.. then yes.. its kinda inappropriate.

That said, I have seen people who take it to both extremes. Most are discreet and cover up but there are always some who feel the need for attention and give you that look as if they are saying "I dare you to complain about it" lol

Be descrete and do whatever. I don't care much, as long as I don't have to get an eyeful of your boob while I'm out at a restaurant or at a movie, that sort of thing.
