We're investigating some properties in the Southern NH area, and see many homes on lots in the 1-5 acre range. Does anyone know if special zoning or minimum acreage is required to own 1 or more horses on the property? Does this decision vary by town or county?

Thanks so much!

Many of my neighbors have multiple (3-4) horses on their lots which are about 4-5 acres.

the zoning varies in each town. There are horse properties in Manchester, the state's largest city. OTOH, there are small towns up north that don't allow farm animals in certain developments. There appears to be no rhyme nor reason to the zoning.
