So... we've got a frozen pond, visitors up from Texas, and not nearly enough ice skates.

Does anybody know whether there's a place to rent skates in southern NH? Say... the Manchester area?

if I were you I wouldn't be trusting any frozen ponds just now. maybe you see people skating in a roped off area and so it is safe, but I wouldn't be trusting many ponds over knee deep right now.

I live to far north of you to know where rentals are available.

I appreciate what you're saying Mac_Muz, but this pond has been frozen for quite awhile now. The warm day / precipitation we had 10 days or so ago has also fully frozen now, on top of the prior layer. We appear to be nearly 6" of ice all the way across now.

Fun!

6 inches is good, just be sure it is. More than a few times I have gone thru ice in water and it's no fun. I live in Tamworth and in N Conway are rental places, but pretty a fair piece from you.

In the future if it pleases you, just call me mac. The Muz is for muzzloaders since I shoot flinters, and most sites need more than 3 letters.
