Hi all,
I will be moving to Peterborough, NH very soon and I was wondering what people are paying for their annual vehicle inspections....in any other state I've lived in the State set the price but I see there is some fluctuations in pricing....so I'm looking to see who in the area does inspections at a reasonable price.

I don't know about Peterborough, but my mechanic in Henniker charges $35 for my trucks and $50 for my wife's car.
I'm told my work trucks are exempt from the emissions testing because of the GVWR so the price is lower than my wife's Subaru which requires emission testing.
I think these prices are a little high but I'm loyal to the guy as he has cut me some breaks in the past.

it's around $40 in NH. Here's a tip: try & use oil change places cause they don't sell parts so there's less chance that they are going to tamper with your car or do the old "your headlight is out" crap. Look for discounts in the local papers. I never pay over $20.

Brave Stranger, is you cage newer than 1996? If it isn't, you won't pay as hard. I think the state inspection is a joke, and a rip off. I was a state inspector when it was 50 cents to around 5 bucks. This BS is nothing more than highway robbery, by the DMV. Seems fitting some how.

I have a 2003 Ford Mac. i run them into the ground The last Ford went from 1987-2003. I buy them new & run them for as long as I can. A sticker is still $12 bucks from what I hear in Maine. The NHGOP is trying to change inspections to every other year.....let's hope.

Fords that bad? My chevy truck is 83, my cage volvo wagon is 85, my dodge van is 86, one bike (mint is 81) I don't plan to ever own 1996 and up.

NH needs to loose state inspection completely. I feel like sending them a bill for repairs for these bomb blasted like pot holes, AND the salt! Inspection is a scam.

Mac they are getting rid of the Volvo wagon this year which is a shame. that's a great car. I don't know what the price would be with inspections done every other year.

They ain't gittin' rid of my 85 Volvo Turbo wagon this year, with out a fight!

I'ld wager that with a every other year inspection the cost will be double PLUS something more. (Greedy SOB's)

Just so you know 85 was my last year as a full blown certified Volvo tech. Fords are fine as they are. I did a lot of other cars mainly Euro cars besides Vovlo.

I found a 94 Saab 900 for 200 bucks with a blown stick tranny, but someone beat me to it with the cash. It was black with a black convertable roof, Tan leather inside, and a whale tail. I still have a bruise on my butt for not moving fast enough on that one. (Nice car for my wife)

If you see one of those sing right out!
