So, I first opened my claim in May 2012 and started receiving benefits at the time. Then between october- february I had a temp job and after the contract ended, I went back on unemployment benefits. My regular 26 weeks from the state run out and I was put on EUC tier I. So now that the benefit year ended, I had to file a new claim again and my question is- will I continue collecting the EUC tier I amount until it's exhausted or the state will start the 26-week again?

I had some conflicting correspondence, last week it said : "IU initial denied", I'm guessing because I'm already on the ECU. But then a couple of days after that I got a letter with the recalculated base period, with an almost 50% cut because the base period was recalculated.

Obviously I'd prefer to be on the tier I until it's exhausted, but who or what law decided on the paying party in my case? I mean, if the benefits are recalculated after 1 year, what is the reason for the subsequent tiers II, III? Or is it because I had worked during the past 12 months and that's why the state will start paying me again, $200 instead of $400, alas...
