Littleton v. Orford (Lebanon, Hanover: renting, commute, place)

I'm a 30-something woman interviewing for jobs in both Littleton and Orford.

Differences between the two?

Obviously, Orford seems smaller. For that reason, I'm leaning toward Littleton.

My original plan was to commute from Montpelier (1 hr 10 min each way), though I'm now entertaining the idea of renting a place in Littleton.

That would be a horrible commute in winter. I would go for Orford. Not only is it a very nice little town, but it's much closer to the Upper Valley towns such as Hanover and Lebanon.
