Hello!
We are looking to move from Massachusetts to New Hampshire.
We don't know much about living in towns/cities in New Hampshire and would like some help. We have a lot to consider when moving so any detail will help.
We would like to like to live at least an hour from the ocean but not directly on it. We would like to avoid the big tourist busy towns and popular college areas. We understand that can be difficult though. We are also trying to start a family so school systems are now very important to us. We want to live close enough to these school systems but still not in a big busy city or town.
Apartment rentals are also something we are unfamiliar with in New Hampshire. A two bedroom apartment no more than $900 or $1,000 is ideal. If those prices are even reasonable.
We also both work in Human Services. Both as a Correctional Officer and a Developmental Services Worker. If anyone knows of good employment opportunities that would be appreciated as well.
Thank you all!

Yes we did. We want to stay in New England but we need to know our options. We looked into job opportunities in Maine and it turns out it will not work out for us at thiw time. It's all about having options and having all the information we can. We may move somewhere else, but maybe retire in Maine.

I'm only familiar with the seacoast area, but I don't think you'll find a 2-bedroom apt for your budget. The good school systems are mainly in the college and tourist areas.

You have Massachusetts state jobs and you are asking about getting that kind of deal in a zero personal income tax/zero sales tax state? Dream on. You're not going to find anything like that level of compensation anywhere in northern New England. You're probably in Social Security opt-out jobs where you get destroyed if you leave the state retirement system. You're not moving. Figure out how to make where you are now better.
