I am currently looking for a place to buy a used car in the Seacoast of NH. I have no idea where to look for since I got my first car, Nissan versa hatch(over 136,000 miles now) from a private sale on craigslist two years ago (without being deceived, luckily).
This summer, I've noticed that the car is making louder noise than before, and it made high pitch noises when I started it this morning. Makes me wonder if it would survive the coming winter.
(WINTER IS COMING )

Where is the best place (honest / trustworthy) to buy a used car? I would like to hear you guys' opinions/experiences.

I suggest taking it someplace to have it looked at. It could be something simple and you many not need to buy a car at all.

Agree with having your car looked at. Then I'd figure out what kind of car you want and go from there.

Yep. Good advice.

Cars do require maintenance and with that many miles maybe some parts.

Find yourself a good local mechanic.

OR

Are you just seeking a reason for another used car?

Could be a simple thing like either a drive belt or timing belt/chain tensioner or pulley going bad.

Like others have said that I would have it checked out.

From my experience, both Ocean Subaru in North Hampton and Exeter Subaru in Stratham are good places to buy used cars of all makes.

I'm taking it to a local machanic (in Dover) this afternoon. Hope it would be a good experience because this will be the second time I go there. first time was for state inspection and oil change. (sad news I found out in August was that the local machanic I've always been to in Exeter closed permanently..) I don't know which local machines in Exeter is trustworthy now..

I got the belt replaced today! don't have to look for another car for a while, I hope.
Would the car last for another couple of years if I feel it's kinda shaking when it's on the road?
