Happy birthday, Kathryn! Goodness, it's still chilly up here! We've been in the Bahamas (no, not on THAT island, which I think should be converted to some noble usage, after the Dalai Lama and similar holy figures, have fully dehexed the place), and I had only two days in Connecticut, to adjust. But Avi's other grandparents' chef, there, has finally converted to Carnivore, and has been experimenting with tortes. She's on "the Ultra-Orthodox Spectrum", and so there's neither schmeck nor speck of dairy in/on/accompanying these, since they contain beef tallow and Heaven forbid we should mix the meat and the milk. They're baked in ramekins, but come-free, easily, so I just brought a basketfull, wrapped in gingham, for "that New England touch". Don't worry about the cinnamon/Lakanto Monkfruit granules dusting. Cinnamon sticks are ground, personally, by Chef, so there's no lead, like in the common store-bought kinds.
Some of the mini-tortes are Pistachio, some are Black Walnut, some are Pecan, some are Almond.
You're looking wonderful, Kathryn. It must be this brisk New Hampshire air. First thing we noticed about Montreal, was how great the March weather was, for hair and skin. The Quebecois were complaining about the cold rain. But we were loving every minute of it. New Hampshire is about the same, in that respect. So great to see everyone!
Happy Birthday, Kathryn! I just got the notice of your birthday party so apologize for the belated wish; I hope you will enjoy a beautiful year filled with our Lord's blessings upon you.
