For you Harbor Freight fans there's a new store coming to Portsmouth in January, never been to one as I haven't had one close by, will be checking it out when they open.

A boon to SW NH, the Monadnocks, is the opening of a Harbor Freight AND a Homegoods in Keene. https://www.sentinelsource.com/news/...b8276f786.html

This area has not been feted for its shopping options, so this is a big plus.

If I depended on my tool to make my living then I might look some place else for those tools but for my needs now I have purchased many tools there and no problems yet. The thing is to sign up for the emails as they always have sales. Some of the things I bought are 3 ton floor jack, electric impact wrench which has been a great tool for the dozen or so times I have used it. I also buy things like throw away paint brush's, tie down straps.

I also think the prices at Harbor Freight help to keep some of the other stores like Home Depot honest.

HF has low prices for a reason. Buyer beware.

I've never been to a physical location but all the power tools I have purchased from HF have been solid. I even resold a wet tile saw (after I used it for 5 or so projects) on Craigslist for nearly the same amount I paid for it.

HF is a mixed bag. I have a HF sledgehammer that I used to break up a large concrete pad and it is still in good shape. Most of the hand tools I bought there have held up to moderate and repeated homeowner use. I also have a hydraulic cart that has provided good long term service.

I have had bad luck with HF electric and gas powered outdoor equipment.

Cheap tools AND no sales tax............WINNNING!

Use their coupons, then it really gets stupid cheap. I can usually BUY HF tools cheaper than renting them from Home Depot.

I've had such terrible experiences with their hand tools that I won't buy any more of them.

I bought a corded sawzall for $19 (I use it to cut up scrap).......this tool has been abused and still runs though the body has some wear and tear.

Why use my Dewalt for scrap duty?

Plus when someone wants to borrow a sawzall the HF is the one I offer!
