I personally chose NH of all 50 states before I was a real estate agent. The main reason why I chose NH is because of low taxes and more personal freedoms than most other states offer. Next reason had to do with natural beauty. I love NH and am all for other people moving here who also love it, and want to keep it awesome.

We made the same decision for the same exact reasons. My only hope is others who come here do not try to change anything.

Story form WMUR.

I would presume that they would have to go through the process of actually becoming residents of the state. Is showing a tax bill and utility bill be enough or would they have to change their license and car registration? The article hints around what needs to be done.

The students would have to be residents of the school district.

This (PDF, FAQ#2) says that enrolling your children in a public school signifies your intention to establish residence in NH. That would impose the DL, registration, etc. requirements.

OTOH, the students might be able to continue at their previous schools via online classes. Or they could have home schooling. Then the residency issue would kick in at 6 mos and 1 day.

What’s the question? Better yet, what’s the problem?

The problem is tripling the school enrollment.

Not sure if it's a problem but it could be. The opening post was an observation. There will probably be opinions based upon this observation. Nothing wrong with somebody posting an observation to see what other people think and what they may have observed.

BTW moderators can post as regular people, you know. They are not always moderating.

Isn’t that why they pay property (school) taxes? Regardless of where you live or come from? I don’t have kids & pay my property/school taxes for decades. Maybe when I sell it, a family will move in with kids who will use the school system.
