Lebanon. Next to Hanover/Dartmouth College so there are lots of amenities associated with that. I believe Hanover has an adult chorale (Handel Society maybe?). On the border of VT, centrally located. Best place I ever lived (unfortunately in TX now)

Hanover/Lebanon is not remotely libertarian/conservative nor are they going to find anything close to $250K there. Of course the OP hasn't been back in over a month so maybe they decided to stay in Calif.

Probably another seeking a low cost utopia. As with many who visit the New Hampshire section.
Low taxes but with many town funded amenities and services.
Nice good schools that offer most everything.
Nice area to build the best yurt home.
