I loved it so much I moved to NH twice!
First time, LI - NH = finally felt at peace, thought the move added 10 yrs to my life.
NH notably quieter and cleaner than LI.
Second time SoCal - NH = Thanking God for each day I've been back!!! Drastically increased quality of life, a return to sanity, especially important now that I have kids! Definitely a smart move for us. We are not sweating the small stuff in NH having experienced so many big issues about other places, just so relieved to be here.
Lived in NJ for 20 years (no bad-mouthing NJ; I'm convinced the jokes are just a good way to keep other people out), VA (outside Washington) for 6, and now NH (rented in Merrimack, now owning in Hollis) for almost a year.
Like it and so far it was a smart move (and hopefully will continue to be).
LOVED IT! Moved from Ohio about a year and half ago. I didn't mind ohio, but there wasn't much to do...winters were horrible, and other than Lake Erie it didn't really offer much outdoors entertainment....which I live for.
I moved for a job knowing little about New England other than a few quick trips through it. Now that I'm here I couldn't imagine a better place for me. Ocean, mountains, slopes, micro brews, laid back, real people...what else do you want?
I was just in California ( Bay area) for 2 weeks on work, and couldn't wait to get back here. Nice place to visit, I couldn't live there though.
Did you like it or hate it and why? Did it end up being a smart move or a disaster in the end? Just curious

We love it here, the scenery is beautiful, the people are nice and we have lots to do. We left California and moved to Tennessee and then on to Virginia. We would not go back to any of those places....We are very happy here.
I just moved here from Alabama. cooler climate, less religion in daily society, low taxes, and friendly people make it a nice place to live. the only thing I don't like is the high cost of housing.
jk. It's hard to know since it's been raining buckets since we got here, and we're not in our house yet. BUT, there is a lot I'm looking forward to. Like fruit picking Also, since we've been here, everyone I've met is really nice!
This is a good thread. I too am interested in how people feel after they have moved to NH. Hopefully more people will post their experiences and thoughts here.
We're considering moving to NH from CO, and enjoy reading peoples opinions and stories.
We're born and raised on Long Island, lived in NJ, FL, and now Colorado. I love it here in Colorado, but the wife wants to move closer to family, and it seems like NH is the best comprise since I told her when we got married that under no circumstances would I move back to the oppressed state of NY.
