Keene and surrounding area schools (move to, commute, job)

My husband and I have two girls, ages 10 and 13. We are considering a move to Keene or surrounding towns due to a job possibility that would be in Keene. We wouldn't want more than a 20 minute commute and would prefer to be as close as possible to Keene. I was thinking that we would love to be in town, but now am not sure, as some of the surrounding towns sound interesting as well. Any information on the schools regarding reputation &/or personal experience would be greatly appreciated!
