If you value personal freedoms such as espoused in the US Constitution amendments 1-10, you will find New Hampshire far friendlier than Soviet Maxxachusetts.

Why not eliminate the Commute and move to Marlborough? I would strongly consider Marlborough. Boston Magazine recently rated Marlborough High as one of the 50 best in the state. It also has a very highly regarded Math and Science Charter School. for your budget you will find a beautiful home at Tax rates that are significantly lower than most of the towns you mentioned. Additionally, Marlborough is centrally located and has great restaurants, parks, bike trails, Health Clubs, Country Clubs, etc....
