Hello,
We plan on purchasing a condo in Manchester, NH. The condo is beautiful but from the outsides of the location, it really throws you off. This is making me concerned that this area is not safe. I have read numerous posts saying that the north end of manchester is the safest part. The location of this condo is near silver st. Is this area safe? Any help would be appreciated!

Do you need to live in Manchester ? Hookset, the next town over, is safer, and has some wonderful condos. Parts of Manchester are fine......but in my personal opinion Manchester has a dreary future with increasing crime. I would not pruchase anything there.
I would say Silver Street is the worst part of Manchester although I doubt I would be "scared" to live there I am way more scared of people that live in my area
devitasbaby, before you make any moves toward buying any property in Manchester, I would recommend that you visit the area as many times as possible, at various times of day and evening. What may seem a quiet and laid back area at 11 AM might be something altogether different at 8 PM. Traffic patterns, various people who may be out and about (especially now that it's getting warmer and staying light till later) you might find that either this area suits you fine, or it may be more than you bargained for.
You might want to visit the Manchester PD to get crime information on any area of Manchester you are considering. OR speak to a city fireman, if you know one. A friend of mine has been with the department for years, and there are certain buildings that they dread getting calls on... Manchester's neighborhoods change from one block to the next, and while there are some beautiful individual properties (especially the inside, newly renovated condos) also be sure to look at the whole picture (the building, common area(s) etc. Hopefully you're working with a good real estate agent who is willing to give you guidance on making a good decision.
