I'm going to be visiting family in Milton in a few weeks. I'll have my car and I'm looking for some fun things to do for my sister and I for the couple of days that we're going to be on our own because the family will be working. We're going to drive to LLBean one day

I would recommend the highway 16 corridor. Head up to North Conway, the Kank, go up moose alley south of Errol, and travel the Auto Road up to the top of Mount Washington. In terms of the Maine coast, I would head up 1A through York Beach up through Ogunquit and over to Wells Beach. Those are great places to hit during the summer. Expect some crowds, though.

Thanks. I don't mind crowds, I'm from NJ, I'm used to it.

Everything mentioned above is a great day or weekend trip....also shoot down the coast and drive 1A and stop in Portsmouth.

The Tilton outlets and the North Conway outlets are always good if you want to do some shopping. But I would recommend a trip to Lake Winnipesaukee and a ride on the Mount Washington--really great to do on a beautiful sunny day. Or, drive up to the top of Mount Washington itself, or visit the Flume and other outdoor places in that area.
