UNH alumni here and son currently attends...great location for marine biology. The bus service does help with students able to commute from local towns. Academically, the school is very good. My son's complaint is that UNH administration pushes "leadership" but is not very supportive of student designed/run organizations. If it's not one of their funded orgs then they aren't very helpful.
I would recommend not living in a freshman only dorm, his dorm the first year was gross and noisy.
The upperclass dorms are nicer!
