Nashua has everything you need for shopping, but if you can afford it, look at the surrounding towns heading west and north. My daughter lives in Amherst and eventhough she wishes to move south, she will stay until her youngest child graduates from high school. Considering Vt. appealed to you, you can get both city and country. Check out Merrimack too.
